Certification and Licensure in Automotive Technologists
Certification from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is highly recommended in the automotive industry. Obtaining certification increases employment opportunities and salaries. Most employers only hire applicants who are certified. Applicants must pass written, oral, and practical examinations which assess their knowledge and skills in the automotive industry. Employees require re-certification every five years.
